Julie lost her job and, soon after, her home. She and her son suddenly found themselves homeless with little hope for the future. She was encouraged to reach out to Action Ministries by a friend. She came to us feeling overwhelmed by grief, fear, and the ache of seeing her child unhoused.
Our experienced intake specialists reassured her that homelessness is not a problem too big for solutions and that her value as a parent was not contingent on the season of her circumstances. He quickly processed her information and accepted her and her child into Trinity Assessment Center (TAC). TAC acts as an archway between housing, allowing us to work with friends like Julie to secure the training and resources needed to maintain stable housing. Within a short five weeks, we all celebrated Julie and her son as they walked into their new two-bedroom apartment, fully employed and ready for the next chapter.
Julie was lucky, too many families don’t know where to turn. No one is taught how to navigate homelessness. TAC is a critical resource to help stabilize people’s lives so they can focus on the next steps. And we are there every step of the way.
