ATLANTA – October 27, 2016 – On August 15, 2016, the Synovus Northwest Georgia and Chattanooga Divisions kicked off a six-week community outreach project to benefit the Action Ministries’ SuperPack program. They successfully exceeded their goal of $10,000 by raising $10,167, which equals 12,198 meals. The SuperPack program ensures that thousands of children in Georgia and Tennessee are fed over the weekend, when they don’t have access to the school lunch program.
Unlike other feeding programs, Action Ministries SuperPack program takes food to children at partnering schools, packed in bags that can discreetly fit into their backpacks. Each SuperPack offers enough food that children can easily assemble into six meals over the weekend. Through its collective buying power, Action Ministries is able to purchase much more food than an individual or group could buy with the same amount of money. A contribution of just $5 provides food for one child for an entire weekend, and all monies raised go back into the community in which the donations were received.
