Our Daily Bread in Athens Collecting Donations for Hygiene Kits Until Dec. 16

Our-Daily-Bread-logo-WebRGBOn Wednesday, Dec. 21, Our Daily Bread will serve its annual Christmas meal at First Baptist Church in downtown Athens. Because Athens is so blessed with organizations that have expertise in gift giving, we plan to give each of our guests a personal care kit with items that are always needed and often asked for. This would be an excellent project for a Sunday School class or youth group!

We are in need of 300 personal care kits and will be accepting donations for the following:

  • Washcloths
  • Socks (white)
  • Hand towels
  • Bath-sized bars of soap
  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste (4-7 ounce sizes)
  • Deodorant
  • Disposable razors
  • Nail clippers
  • Combs
  • Band-Aids

Please deliver donations to the Fellowship Hall of Chapelwood UMC on 100 Janice Drive (off of Whitehead Road) any weekday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The deadline for dropping off supplies is Friday, Dec. 16, at 1 p.m. To ensure that we have enough items for each guest, please deliver these items loose in a box. Kits will be assembled by Chapelwood UMC. Call Solomon Smothers at 706-201-5118 for more information.
