How Does it Work?

The Smart Lunch, Smart Kid program relies on volunteers to make and deliver lunches to local children in need. The program is an excellent and meaningful way for volunteers to invest in the lives of families in their own communities. Whether your group, congregation or family can help weekly or just a few times this summer, there is a place for you!

How Does it Work?

Day before delivery

Meal providers pack and deliver lunches to local distribution site. We need up to 400 lunches each day!

Day of delivery

9 – 11 a.m.  Packers and checkers prepare lunches for delivery at local distribution site.

9 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Lead site volunteer checks in lunches, manages volunteers and cleans up after.

10:45 a.m.  Drivers arrive, load vehicles and deliver lunches to children in designated areas. Enrichment leaders nourish the kids’ minds along with their bodies. These volunteers are the faces of the program!

2 p.m.  Volunteers are finished for the day.
