Marlon was born and raised in Columbus, Ga. He attended Columbus State University after earning a scholarship to play both baseball and basketball. In 1994 after his junior year, the Cincinnati Reds drafted him as a first baseman. He played for five years in the Reds’ Minor League Organization and coached for a year as a hitting instructor. In 2000, Marlon returned to CSU to complete his degree in Computer Information Management and worked with the Boy Scouts of America. In 2008, he moved to Gwinnett County to become the Director of Field Service for the Northeast Georgia Council Boy Scouts. He serves as a professional baseball instructor for Jack City Sports Center, consults with the State Bar of Georgia, where he facilitates the BASICS World of Works program in the Georgia Department of Corrections, and serves as chaplain for the high school and youth football programs of Dacula. He also serves as lead pastor of Victorious Living Church. Marlon is a member of the Rotary Club of Gwinnett County. Marlon’s life mission is to help all people see their tremendous potential to win in every aspect of life. He is married to Tasha, and the couple has two children, Marlon Jr. (MJ) and Sarah.
