I AM a Mom

ACTION021 for web2

I get to show my children that a mother’s love is greater than meth.

I witnessed a lot of violence and drug abuse in my family when I was growing up. I started using crystal meth when I was just 12 years old and dropped out of school in the eighth grade. When I came to the Action Ministries Transitional Housing program, my three kids had been taken from me. I’d finally gotten clean, and I wanted to give my children back their mom. Action Ministries helped me find stable housing, and I’m working with a tutor to get my GED. I got a full-time job and regained custody of my kids. I feel like the program gave me my life back. I would tell others: Reach inside yourself. Stop looking for a hero, because you are your own hero.
