Georgia’s Own Credit Union Partnership with Action Ministries Raises $32K to Ease Childhood Hunger

ATLANTA – August 15, 2016 – Each year, approximately 1 million children in Georgia lose access to lunch when school ends for the summer. Georgia’s Own Credit Union partnered with Action Ministries again this summer to provide a safety net for children in their community.  The credit union spurred their customers to donate more than $32,000 over the past two years with their “BagIt” campaign to ease childhood hunger.

Georgia’s Own customers and partners’ donations of $5 fed a child in need lunch for two days. It also sent a clear message that Georgia’s Own is invested in the children in their communities. Donations were made in branch locations and online via text message.
