Feed the Hungry Golf Tournament Raises $50,000 for Georgians in Need

The Action Ministries – Feed the Hungry Golf Tournament at Cherokee Town and Country Club was a terrific way to celebrate April Fool’s Day yesterday.

Coach Bill Curry, recently retired head coach at Georgia State University, kicked off the event by reminding attendees that Action Ministries is one of the best vehicles available in which to invest to help struggling families in Georgia. Many thanks to golf chair, Craig Mackenzie, the volunteers and staff of Action Ministries, along with our sponsors and participants, for helping Action Ministries raise approximately $50,000 and introducing our cause to dozens of golfers.

Georgia’s Own Credit Union organized an April Fool’s fundraiser for our golfers called “Man, I Feel Like a Woman,” which raised more than $500 for Action Ministries. Golfers paid $10 and dressed in their favorite women’s items for the privilege of teeing off from the ladies’ tee.
