Action Ministries Welcomes New Chief Development Officer

Action Ministries announced today that Christal Cherry will join the nonprofit as Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer. Cherry will supervise the Development department and provide leadership and support to the resource development efforts across the organization.

A native New Yorker, Cherry moved to Atlanta for the first time in 1990. Five years later, she moved to Virginia to pursue a master’s degree in counseling at Hampton University. Upon graduation and while working in Washington D.C. for American University, she was introduced to development work and discovered a passion for helping people realize their philanthropic dreams. Through her involvement on the board of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and as Chair of the Diversity Fellows program for AFP, she gravitated toward the important work of serving the homeless. Cherry most recently served as the Director of Development for Nicholas House, where she focused on cultivating relationships to create and build lifelong, engaged donors.
